Helene is a principle in Rehabilitation Consulting and Resource Institute, an independent consulting firm focusing on practice management and reimbursement strategies in the outpatient rehabilitation setting. She is also a partner in Physical Therapy Provider Network (PTPN) of Arizona, a physical therapist owned provider network.

Helene has expertise in the area of reimbursement, fiscal management and health policy as it relates to rehabilitation services. She draws on her background of having developed and operated three Medicare rehab agencies, a home care contracting business, two specialty practices delivering work injury management services and a physical therapy provider network. She has owned and operated her own private practice for over 22 years. In addition she is a consultant to several national medical review and insurance companies, providing assistance in the development of utilization and payment policies as they pertain to rehabilitation services.

Helene has been involved over the past 16 years with the American Medical Association’s Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) process in the development, and implementation of CPT codes used to describe and pay for physical therapy services across all OP settings. As part of her consulting practice she works with physical therapists, OP healthcare practice and facility administrators, third party payers, regulatory agencies, healthcare attorneys, and other health care practitioners to provide education in the areas of documentation of rehab services, appropriate utilization and data management, and the coding and billing of clinical services.

In addition to her clinical and consulting practice, Helene serves on the AMA’s CPT Editorial Panel as well as the Panel's Executive Committee. She is also a member of the editorial panel for the AMA’s “CPT Assistant” publication.
